Is it What It Is…Until It’s Not, follows the story of Jamario Wilkerson, who must reconcile the murder of his friend while navigating the dynamics of a toxic relationship with his mother, girlfriend, and a friend group that offers little support. And Italia, whose anger toward her mother for being absent during the early part of her life drives her to self-destructive behaviors toward herself and others.

It Is What It Is…Until It’s Not is inspired by the ideas and experiences of the 2023 City at Peace Summer Cast as they explored the social issues that most affect their daily lives.
