Join the Culture Queen as she does “The Locomotion” on a journey through the swinging ’60s. This energetic show introduces young audiences to the music of Dance Hall kings and queens like Chubby Checker, Little Richard, Little Eva, and Dee Dee Sharp. She’ll teach your royal children the hottest dances of the era like “The Twist”, “The Mashed Potato”, “The Bird” and many more through music and storytelling.

All patrons age 1 and above must purchase a ticket to the performance.
Artist biography: Jessica “Culture Queen” Hebron is an award-winning Master Teaching Artist and Event Planner who holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. For the past 20 years, she’s worked professionally as a teaching artist, performer, director and curriculum writer. Since 2010, Jessica as owned and operated her own company Culture Kingdom Kids, LLC, where she has performed and produced innovative children’s performances, festivals, workshops, and professional development programs for diverse audiences from primary school to Yale University, The Kennedy Center, the Atlas Theatre, the Lincoln Theatre, and museums including the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African-American History and Culture Oprah Winfrey Theatre, the National Children’s Museum, the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African-American History and Culture, the Black History Museum of Virginia, the Prince George’s African American Museum,  Alexandria Black History Museum, and Busboys and Poets’ Restaurants.
