“Chupachocolata” follows Jocelyn, an up-and-coming Latine pastelería (bakery) owner. To be successful she must balance crazy customers, frustrating employees, a suspicious health inspector, an overbearing mother, and being a chupacabra. Jocelyn cannot let all these pressures interfere with her dreams. It is a story of identity, family, and work-life balance.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
In 2017, three Fearless Warrior Women of Planet Earth came together wanting to create incredible theater that promoted women’s voices. Too Much Damn (“TMD”) Theater is proud to tell rich stories where strong complex female leads are center stage and brought to life by a women-led creative team. Our leaders create performances that persuade audiences to love and fight for theater as much as they do. TMD Theater achieves its vision with every women-lead production, in every aspect of the creative process. TMD Theater ignited its vision in July 2017 with its first production – a summer campfire themed radio play series. After that TMD Theater made its first short film in as a part of the 48-Hour Film Project. TMD Theater checked off more goals when it produced its first full production in the 2018 Capital Fringe Festival – “Painted Ladies – Bosses of the Wild West” where its first Junior Producer joined the production team. Since then, TMD Theater has produced plays at the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage, and Arena Stage. TMD Theater has produced full-length staged productions, stage readings, musical theater, digital theater (Zoom/online platforms), a web series, and short films. TMD Theater takes pride in its collaborations with other local theater companies, its Junior Producer Program, playwriting challenges, and community building conferences and workshops. TMD Theater enjoys immersing itself in a myriad of genres for its works including; fantasy, magical realism, horror, historical fiction, comedy, drama, dramedies, and contemporary fiction.
