September 9 – 10

The 2023 District Improv Festival (the 9th!) headliners Jim Woods and Will Hines, longtime improvisers from the Upright Citizens Brigade in LA and NYC, are each offering a workshop at the festival:
Saturday September 9, 10:30am  – Jim Woods ($45) Workshop:  RIPPLE EFFECTToo often we use support moves to just make a pattern bigger and louder. Instead, let’s use tag-outs and walk-ons to see how your improv scene affects other places in the world.  Use “if this then what” to explore.
 Sunday September 10, 11:00am – Will Hines ($45)Workshop: FIGHT WELLFighting in improv can be tough, but it can also be really fun. Learn the secrets to making your improv arguments interesting and enjoyable. We will focus on: losing, saying why, giving foolish gifts and enjoying being the bad guy.
Workshop with Will Hines –  Sunday September 10,  2:15pm-4:15PM
PREMISE BOOTCAMP:  The basics on initiating scenes with a premise pulled from an opening. Learn the common tricks of mastering this useful approach to starting scenes quickly.
