ODE IN FREE VERSE

Verse 1 – Piazzolla Live by New Trifilio Tango Trio
Verse 2 – Requiem Today Choreography/Scenario by Olga Aru and performed by Aru Dell’Arte

This sophisticated performance dares to provoke your imagination. First Verse represents Emmanuel Trifilio and The New Trifilio Tango Trio playing the music of Astor Piazzolla. The passion, drama, and heart of traditional tango are infused with the idioms and colors of Emmanuel Trifilio, an Argentinian composer, forging his musical path in America. Three instrumental voices represent – bandoneon, piano, and bass.
Second Verse is spoken in the language of movement in the production of Requiem Today, choreographed and staged by an Ukrainian born American choreographer Olga Aru and performed by Aru Dell’Arte ensemble. Requiem Today breaks through the barriers of prejudice and reveals humanity while reflecting on the extraordinary and courageous nature of humankind. Each chapter of this ballet carries an encrypted message. Expressive and bold, this show brings a glimpse of hope and unity, as well as incorporating a gender-neutral approach in partnering. All seven chapters are a puzzle to solve on one’s own.
