“Heart Still Beating” is an intimate evening-length dance work that follows the journey of the heart along its countless pathways. It weaves together choreography by Company | E’s Artistic directors Paul Emerson and Kathryn Pilkington, along with founding member Robert Priore and Ukrainian choreographers Anastasia Kharkenko and Kate Kurman, all to a score by the incomparable Zoe Keating.

Using chairs as props or as installations in the space,  7 dancers perform contemporary movement and ideas, interacting with each other and depicting emotions and themes from life today that connect us to one another.  Love, family, friendship, strife, sadness, and ultimately, community and strength carry the work forward.

Company | E builds its art through engagement with the diplomatic missions from nations around the globe, all based in Washington, DC, seeking out the greatest choreographic, musical and interdisciplinary artists in their fields, with an emphasis on the next generation of brilliant, cutting-edge art, and with the U.S. missions abroad, to present that work on the domestic and international stage.
