It’s Frida’s Saturn return, and the stars have served her: Joanie.

For one night only, RAWRA with Feeling debuts multi-genre music and screenplay excerpts from Eat Me, Joanie about one late-bloomer reparenting their inner drag monster amidst crisis.

In this Atlas Arts Lab staged reading and music showcase, RAWRA invites the audience to observe, question, and alchemize their inner darkness toward outward good.

Ages: 13+

Run Time: 1 hour

RAWRA, a queer multidisciplinary artist, explores the intersection of the raw and the weird. Borrowing from Dr. Schultz of the Internal Family Systems psychology, “Our parts can sometimes be disruptive or harmful, but once they are unburdened, they return to their essential goodness. When we learn to love all our parts, we can learn to love all people– and that will contribute to healing the world.”

In a world desensitized to terror and unconnected, albeit being the most technologically connected ever, we must change the ways of addressing the “doom” that looms over us as a society and individuals. The first step towards community change is realizing the change within. Through magical realism, dark comedy, and queer love, RAWRA’s work invites audiences to reflect on their internal landscapes effect on their external actions.
