Inspired by real events, the stage play, Drowning, explores the intersection of love and loss for a family that loses a child during pregnancy. The story compounds as two members of the family experience additional losses. Drowning comes alive with a blend of acting, singing, dancing, spoken-word, and live music to connect the audiences’ experiences with the hope that grief becomes something we live with and not run from. Touching on mental health, motherhood, and fatherhood in addition to loss and grief, the stage play debuted at Atlas Performing Arts Center in 2023, was produced at Woolly Mammoth Theatre in 2024 and, will be touring in black box theatres throughout the DMV from March through May 2026.
