Join us for a special performance celebrating the creativity, talent, and voices of DC’s young people. Through artistic expression and collaborative storytelling, participants explore themes of community, connection, and the power of working together to build a more peaceful city. This inspiring presentation showcases the hard work and imagination of SYEP youth as they share their unique perspectives and experiences with audiences.
Driven by a desire to build a better future, 18-year-old Rio works tirelessly to save for college while constantly shielding her family from financial instability. But when her mother’s impulsive decisions bring unpredictable strangers—and dangerous new dynamics—into their home, Rio finds herself trapped between her own dreams and her instinct to protect her younger sister. As hidden fractures within her household begin to tear everything apart, Rio is forced to confront what true sacrifice means and determine how far she will go to safeguard the people she loves.
