Join us for an evening honoring the graduates of the Arts Institute for Creative Advancement’s (AICA) Class of 2026 as they launch their careers in technical theatre! The ceremony features graduate speeches, guest artists, and a reception to follow. Guests will have the opportunity to meet and celebrate with this year’s graduates.
Launched in 2023, the Arts Institute for Creative Advancement (AICA) is a year-long paid apprenticeship program that seeks to help young adults who have faced barriers to livable wage employment to establish careers as professional theatre technicians. The AICA provides its apprentices with intensive education, hands-on training, and direct work experience to help them prepare for long-term employment in the field. To date, 87% of AICA graduates have worked regularly in the DMV theatre and production scene.
The AICA is an initiative by the DC Arts Education Alliance and is led by The Theatre Lab School of the Dramatic Arts, Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, and Life Pieces To Masterpieces.
