The New Atlas Marquee Award honors individuals and organizations whose vision, leadership, and creative spirit illuminate the transformative power of the arts. This award recognizes those who stand on the front lines of innovation, equity, and community impact—champions whose work amplifies diverse voices, builds bridges across neighborhoods and cultures, and elevates the performing arts as a catalyst for change.

Like the theater marquee that lights the way for audiences, recipients of the Marquee Award shine brightly as beacons of inspiration. Their dedication strengthens the cultural fabric of Washington, DC, and reflects the Atlas Performing Arts Center’s mission to be a home for creative exploration, civic dialogue, and artistic excellence.

This honor celebrates those who:

  • Demonstrate extraordinary commitment to advancing the arts, whether through performance, education, philanthropy, or advocacy.
  • Champion inclusivity and accessibility, ensuring that artistic expression is available to all.
  • Create meaningful impact within the H Street NE corridor and across the wider community.
  • Inspire new possibilities, embodying the belief that the arts can shape a more connected, just, and vibrant world.

The New Atlas Marquee Award is presented annually at the Atlas Performing Arts Center’s Benefit to celebrate leaders whose light helps guide the future of our cultural landscape.
