The VIVA School’s RESONANCE arrives in the room like a frequency you feel before you hear it.
The work is alive with intention, moving through space with a sustained investigation of energy, weight, and release. Set against a season of change and becoming, RESONANCE positions the dancer in full possession of both stillness and wonder, offering audiences an experience as deeply felt as it is seen. It inhabits the space between stillness and flight, and in doing so reminds us that live performance, at its most essential, does not merely move through the air. It changes it.
RESONANCE is a testament to VIVA’s unwavering commitment to artistic excellence and the transformative power of movement. Audiences are invited into an evening of work that lingers long after the final bow.
ABOUT THE VIVA SCHOOL
The VIVA School of Dance is a haven for naturally gifted students to fearlessly nurture their talents in community with others who see their limitless potential.
Located in Washington, DC, the school centers young dancers of color, ages 6-18, in a progressive model of dance education that merges world-class training and leadership development to cultivate the creative leaders of tomorrow. Supported by a community of artists, educators and advocates, young artists develop as brilliant movers and distinct thinkers gaining acceptance into the nation’s top collegiate dance programs and conservatories. The VIVA School distinguishes itself as a full-merit scholarship program, affirming an enduring investment in talent and a commitment to equity.
