September 4 – 7

A new, original play by playwright Lu Wang.

New York, 2020. As the city locks down in the chaos of the COVID-19 outbreak, a nearly bankrupt restaurant becomes an unexpected refuge for four New Yorkers—a fierce immigrant mother, a blinded chef, a misunderstood daughter, and a weary cop—along with one unfinished story of love and forgiveness.

In this space where food, death, and laughter collide, they cling to each other for warmth and meaning.

Set in the earliest days of the pandemic, Something Crazy explores what happens to the human spirit under pressure—escape, resistance, rage, desire, despair, and flickers of hope.

At its core, the play asks: “Between life and death—how do we keep loving?”
