Dance Institute of Washington provides youth the opportunity to develop artistically, socially, emotionally and intellectually through ballet and diverse dance. Its commitments to access, equity and artistic excellence distinguish DIW from others. DIW operates a pre-professional school, community engagement initiatives, youth ensemble, and professional company, granting youth from diverse backgrounds the chance to experience the performing arts and develop skills needed for college/careers. Ashanté Green, School Co-Director: Ms. Green trained at DIW, completed a DTH residency, and danced with Debbie Allen, Washington Ballet, and Virginia School for the Arts. A graduate of Baltimore School for the Arts, she holds a degree in Dance from Shenandoah and Masters in Arts Administration.
