The café at the Atlas Performing Arts Center on H Street is open to the public Wednesdays through Sundays as a cozy coworking space.
HOURS OF OPERATION
The hours are Wednesdays/Thursdays/Sundays from 10 am-2 pm and Fridays/Saturdays from 2-10 pm with the exception of public performances.
About the Café
Atlas Performing Arts Center is a known hub for arts in the district. Our bar and café has been closed since before the pandemic and we’re delighted to announce its reopening to the public. We’re focused on cultivating a friendly community atmosphere where our space is welcoming to anyone looking to hang out, work, or be in an artistic space for a breath of fresh air.
A large part of our mission has always been to bring attention to the artistic skills of those in our community and our café and bar will do the same-with themed cocktails inspired by our performances, pastries from local bakeries, and alcohol produced in the district.
Our historic lobby where the café is situated is distinct; in one of the largest buildings on H street and a DC landmark, one can see the brick walls of the alleyways that ran between the buildings that originally separated the theaters that make up the modern Atlas.
Please stop in for a coffee or glass of wine, bring your computer or best friend and enjoy your neighbors in the culinary, as well as creative arts.
REFRESHMENTS
The Atlas Café is a perfect place for a snack — either pre-show, during intermission, or after the show. Patrons can also enjoy a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including beer, wine, soft drinks, juices, and waters.
The Atlas Café in the lobby offers coffee, wine, cocktails, teas, juices, and pastries. The Café opens at least one hour before curtain remains open through intermission, and is open 30 minutes after performances.
Theatres across the greater Washington, DC area continue to unite to provide public safety for their audiences, artists, staff, and volunteers by requiring masks to be worn by all audience members while in performance spaces (i.e. watching the show). Masks may be optional in other areas of the building, including lobbies. The use of N95 masks is encouraged. We will still require masks during all performances, but refreshments from the bar are allowed for consumption in the venues. Masks may be removed briefly while actively eating or drinking, but should be placed back over both the mouth and nose otherwise.
