Mezzo Soprano Megan Ihnen:
“Congratulations to Great Noise Ensemble on this momentous anniversary – 10 years! I have had the privilege to be affiliated with the ensemble since 2010. Since then, I have witnessed Great Noise Ensemble work tirelessly to promote composers, musicians, and new music overall in Washington D.C. They have taken on incredibly impressive projects season after season – like the premiere performance of Louis Andriessen’s “De Materie” by a professional American ensemble five years ago which was a precursor to their performance of “La Commedia” during a festival honoring Louis Andriessen at 75 last year. Their dedication goes beyond aspiration. As an ensemble, they have come together out of a mutual love for performing the music of our time. They devote their high-quality musicianship and technical skill to each composition. They are actively involved in strengthening the musical landscape of our nation’s capital. I am grateful that Great Noise Ensemble has asked me to work with them time and again. Every time I walk into a rehearsal with them it feels like coming home. I wish them many more years of welcoming audiences into that musical home.”
The Randy Hostetler Living Room Music Project:
“For ten years the very talented musicians of the Great Noise Ensemble have been bringing to the D.C. area exciting and adventuresome music from the country’s most outstanding composers. We feel very fortunate to have Great Noise in our community.”
Great Noise Ensemble will perform May 15 at 8:00pm at the Atlas Performing Arts Center!
