Singer Natalie Jean sheds light on lesser-known aspects of Haiti through music. Using songs from her recent album Haiti Mwen Renmenw (Haiti I Love You), Jean describes the beautiful, uplifting aspects of a nation that is often portrayed in a negative way. The music depicts the joys of carnival, music, food, the sense of magic that imbues the place, and the beauty of the women.

About Natalie Jean
Natalie Jean is a versatile performer who sings in many genres, such as jazz, pop, R&B, blues, and dance. She also sings in French, Spanish, English, and Creole. Natalie Jean is influenced by artists including Lena Horne, Celine Dion, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, and Ella Fitzgerald. Her performance highlights include shows at the French Embassy, Twins Jazz, the Cherry Blossom Festival, and Mr. Henry’s. She also appeared on WPFW, a jazz station in Washington DC. She has been nominated for over 60 awards for her music and has won many awards. Most recently, Natalie Jean was the Gold Medal Winner in the 2017 Global Music Awards for Female Pop Vocalist for her song “L’Amour a L’Infini”. She has released four albums – Obsession (2013), Natalie Jean (2014), Lecons D’Amour (2015), Unafraid (2016), and Haiti Mwen Renmenw (2017).
