The Golden Age of Boleros with Miramar
What better way to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month than to enjoy the band Miramar’s spin on bolero! Bolero is a style of love song that originated in 19th century Cuba and became a sensation in the hands of Mexican composers in the 1940s, then spread throughout the Spanish-speaking world.
Miramar will play a selection of songs from Puerto Rico’s golden age of boleros, the 1950s, including works by Sylvia Rich. The show also includes original songs penned by members of the band, with signature arrangements that feature organ and duet singing. Check out their amazing Tiny Desk Concert for a taste of the show!
Performance begins at 8:00 pm.
