A Winter’s Day in the City is an intimate evening of American musical theatre songs from a French point of view. It features acclaimed vocalist Barbara Papendorp and pianist Amy Conley. These innovative artists will put their unique spin on music by Leonard Bernstein, George Gershwin, Stephen Sondheim, and Cole Porter.
Suitable for all ages.
About the performers:
Barbara Papendorp has performed in and around DC, singing in I Love Paris! A Bastille Day Celebration (La Maison Française), An American in Paris—Paris on the Potomac (Alliance Française of Washington, DC), and Renoir’s Return (The Phillips Collection). Barbara was a company member of French-American theatre company Le Neon Theatre. She has worked with many Washington theatre companies and studied at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and The British American Drama Academy in Oxford. She has also participated in the international theatre collective Rencontres Théâtrales in Corsica as well as co-starred in the USA premiere of French-language musical BIGOUDI.
