About the Atlas INTERSECTIONS Festival
The Atlas Performing Arts Center’s INTERSECTIONS Festival was founded in 2009 as a multi-day festival that brings artists and audiences alike to the developing H Street corridor in NE, Washington, DC. Since inception, the Atlas INTERSECTIONS Festival has presented the arts in a multitude of forms that offer a kaleidoscope of perspectives on the world in which we live. The Festival engages audiences and artists alike by sparking conversation, deeper connection, and community transformation. During the course of its history the festival has showcased hundreds of artists and has entertained and engaged thousands of audience members.
The Atlas is proud to have the INTERSECTIONS Festival as a major programming initiative that enriches the local and greater regional community with performances, workshops, special events, our famous Cafe Concerts and other happenings in theatre, dance, music, vocal, choral, and opera, along with visual arts, writing, sculpture, photography, circus, spoken word, and more, together with public and community art and art space activation.
